Does adenomyosis cause cancer?

 

Just as with fibroids, there is no reliable scientific evidence that the risk of uterine cancer increases in adenomyosis. Some uterine cancer patients may have adenomyosis as an additional finding, or some adenomyosis patients may have uterine cancer (endometrial cancer or sarcoma). However, these diseases are independent of each other and it is generally accepted that the probability of developing uterine cancer in a patient with adenomyosis is the same as in a patient without adenomyosis.
